The Berardi’s Caribbean Cruise: Coming Home

  1. Barbados:  back to Barbados for our flight home.  If you have never been, it is a small but charming little airfield where steel bands greet you upon arrival.  And, you better enjoy that type of music because the lines are long and the waits are even longer….think Jersey turnpike during rush hour all packed into a space the size of your driveway.
  • Miami:  flew into Miami and thought we were still in Barbados.  The process was only slightly more efficient than Barbados, but we were almost home.
  • Final Thoughts:  it took a couple of days to lose the wave motion sensation but perhaps experienced cruisers recover more quickly.  Additionally, Susan has put me on a strict diet.  By my calculation, a daily allotment of 2 carrots and one piece of lettuce for the next 12 days should put be back to pre-cruise weight.  The Seabourn staff was fantastic and we were made to feel like a million bucks (which I calculated to be their profit margin on internet surcharges).  When we finally did arrive home and fully unpacked, I noticed I still had my ship ID card.  So, with a sigh and a smile, we placed the card into our keepsake box along with our other treasured memories.  Happy Birthday to my beautiful and loving wife.
